Why VectorCite exists
We’re Digiocular, a web agency in Manila, Philippines. We build websites for paying clients, and by 2026 they all asked us the same thing: will my page show up in ChatGPT? In Perplexity? In Google’s AI Overviews?
VectorCite is how we answer it, with the evidence on the page: the engine we use for our own clients, opened up so anyone can use it.
The old tools measured the wrong thing
We tried the existing tools first: Surfer SEO, Clearscope, Frase, MarketMuse. All of them entered the market before answer engines existed, and all of them are built around blue-link ranking. The AEO and GEO features they’ve bolted on are partial, the rubrics are opaque, and per-seat pricing made running them across a 50-client portfolio prohibitive.
So we built our own, on one rule: keep each audit to a few cents, so the free tier can stay free.
Evidence first, then the score
The score doesn’t come from asking an AI engine; that’s what the live answer is for. Our Mirror Engine approximates how retrieval-based answer engines shortlist pages, next to a 47-signal rubric grounded in published research.
- The GEO paper (Aggarwal et al., KDD 2024) tested nine content strategies and found some of them raise a source’s visibility in generative-engine answers by up to 40%.

Under the hood
- The live answer
- Claude, with web search, for the answer and sources each audit shows.
- Simulated retrieval
- Semantic similarity, BM25 keyword match, authority and recency, blended and labelled as a simulation.
- Passage matching
- Google's gemini-embedding-001 embeddings, so relevance is a measured distance.
- Entity grounding
- Wikidata, to check that a brand is a known, verifiable entity.
- The rubric
- 47 signals, deterministic and documented one by one, so every score is explainable.
